Description

Rare artist-signed original poster for Jimi Hendrix's second-to-last show: the 1970 Berlin Super Concert

Rare original color 16.5 x 23.25 poster for the 1970 Berlin Super Concert—featuring the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Ten Years After, Procol Harum, Cold Blood, and Cat Mother (who’s debut album was produced by Hendrix.)—signed along the bottom in silver ink by its artist, Holger Matthies. The concert took place at the Deutschlandhalle in Berlin, Germany, on September 4, 1970. In fine condition, with light contrast to the signature against the busy background.

This was Jimi Hendrix’s second-to-last concert; his final show came two days later at the Open Air Love & Peace Festival in Fehmarn, Germany. He would pass away in London on September 18th. During the Berlin show, the Jimi Hendrix Experience played 'Straight Ahead,' 'Spanish Castle Magic,' 'Sunshine of Your Love,' 'Hey Baby (New Rising Sun),' 'Message to Love,' 'Machine Gun,' 'Purple Haze,' 'Red House,' 'Foxy Lady,' 'Ezy Rider,' 'Hey Joe,' 'Power to Love,' and 'Lover Man.'
