Superb vintage ballpoint signatures of the Jimi Hendrix Experience—"Love, Jimi Hendrix" and "Noel Redding, xx," on one page, and "Mitch" on a separate page—both contained within their original 5.75 x 4.5 hardcover autograph album. The Hendrix/Redding page is signed on the reverse by the Walker Brothers (Scott, John, and Gary), with whom they were touring. Other signers in the album include Engelbert Humperdinck, Maurice Chevalier, Ronnie Hilton, Audrey Jeans, George Meaton, Tommy Trinder, Rawicz and Landauer, Pete Murray, Lance Percival, and others. The album's spine is broken, but the interior pages are in fine condition. Consignor notes that the Hendrix Experience autographs were obtained at Bournemouth Winter Gardens on April 29, 1967: during this period, Hendrix was on tour with the Walker Brothers, Cat Stevens, and Engelbert Humperdinck. Accompanied by an original tour program, featuring a full-page portrait and biography of the band inside.
Buried behind the chart-topping Walker Brothers, Cat Stevens, and Engelbert Humperdinck, the Jimi Hendrix Experience received modest billing at the start of their first-ever tour in 1967. By year's end they were one of the most sought-after tickets in live music, soaring high off the successful debut of Are You Experienced and their now-legendary performance at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
