TLS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 5 x 6.5, personal letterhead, December 30, 1921. Letter to Mrs. Henry Fairfield Osborne, in part: "I owe you an apology for not having sooner acknowledged your courteous note of December 14th and the books which accompanied it. The homecoming of the children from school and the Christmas holidays must be my excuse. It is most kind of you to give me the two books by your husband, which set forth so fully the world developments of which you spoke the other night at dinner…The little brochure on the horse is highly interesting…It was a pleasure to see you at Mrs. Mali's house, and you opened quite a new world to me in what you told me of the early beginnings of the earth." In fine condition, with one small stain on the last page. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
