LS in German, signed “George R,” one page, 8 x 12.75, September 4, 1772. Untranslated letter to General Major von Wallmoden, prominently signed at the conclusion in ink by King George III. Professionally inlaid into a slightly larger sheet and in fine condition. Johann Ludwig, Reichsgraf von Wallmoden-Gimborn (1736-1811), the uncle of King George III, was a major general in the Hanoverian army and a noted art collector.
