Queen of Denmark and Norway from 1746 until her death in 1751 as the first wife of King Frederick V; she was the youngest surviving daughter of King George II of Great Britain and Caroline of Ansbach. She became a popular figure at the Danish court, known for hosting performances of music, dance, and theatre. She died from complications of her pregnancy at the young age of 27. Scarce LS in German, signed “Louise,” one page, 8 x 12, January 2, 1747. Untranslated letter signed at the conclusion by Louise of Great Britain as Queen of Denmark and Norway. Affixed to a slightly larger sheet and in very good condition, with scattered staining, soiling, and toning. Accompanied by an unsigned engraved portrait.
