American inventor and industrialist (1831-1897) best known for developing the first successful railroad sleeping car. Partly-printed DS, signed “Geo. M. Pullman,” one page, 9 x 5.75, 1870. Stock certificate for shares in Pullman's Palace Car Company, signed at the conclusion by Pullman as president and countersigned by the company's secretary. Attractively mounted, matted, and framed with a portrait to an overall size of 23.75 x 13.75. In fine condition, with diamond-shaped cancellation holes touching the signature, and the engrossed writing faded but visible.
