Description

One of the most notorious members of the National Convention during the French Revolution, he presided over the trial of Louis XVI and voted for his execution (1755-1841). LS in French, signed “B. Barere,” one page both sides, 6.5 x 8.5, February 23, 1791. Untranslated letter from Paris. In very good condition, with a rusty circular paperclip impression to the top, scattered staining, and clipped corners.
