French painter (1771-1835) whose work focused in the genres of history and neoclassical painting. ALS in French, signed “Gros,” one page, 5 x 8, no date. Untranslated handwritten letter to "Mon cher Demarest," with accompanying ticket to view "les Peintures de la coupole de Sainte-Genevieve, exceutees par M. Gros," signed on the reverse by Gros. In fine condition. Gros painted 'The Apotheosis of Saint Genevieve' in the interior of the dome of the Panthéon de Paris between 1811 and 1824.
