ALS, one page, 8 x 10, April 26, 1907. Handwritten letter to Allan Wade of the Court Theatre, in full: "Many thanks for your kind letter. I am sorry that I gave you the trouble of sending back the notes; but without your letter I could not have learned Mr. Boulertin's name. His handwriting requires a special revelation, & since I became a teetotaller I have, like other prophets, lost my gift in that line. You are very generous about my stories & ballads; I am glad they please you. I am so very wretched about my work just now that a letter like yours is comforting." In fine condition, with a rusty paperclip impression to the bottom edge. Accompanied by the original handwritten mailing envelope.
