Hopkins Gov'r,” one page, 6.25 x 2.5, May 22, 1761. Request to the Post Office at Newport to pay £19.15 to Thomas Vernon "for postage which charge to the Colony." Boldly signed at the bottom by Hopkins as governor of Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. In fine condition, with a trimmed bottom edge.
