Revolutionary War general and, later, treasurer of Connecticut (1743-1818). ALS signed "J. Huntington, Gen'l," one page, 8.5 x 13, March 24, 1781. Handwritten letter to his "Dear Classmates," in part: "I am glad that there is some one in our class who understands the French language, Mr. Eliott I suppose has arrived before this time at College. About the book for compositions I never had one of the old Whelp, but I spoke for one of the old fellow. You must try to get the handkerchief if you can, as for Nando & Allen I send a little money inclosed if they won't take this money that must wait for it till I come down again…I owe the book binder for my Virgil & little Tully. That is all I owe him." In very good condition, with some creasing, and areas of paper loss.
