(Walt Disney Studios, 1940) Original panoramic concept painting by Frank Follmer of Pinocchio's village and its various residents from Pinocchio, accomplished in gouache on an 18 x 11 sheet, which is signed in the lower right corner in pencil by Follmer. The impressively detailed scenes features a total of seven of the film's classic characters—Pinocchio, Geppetto, Jiminy Cricket, Figaro, Stromboli, Honest John, and Gideon—which range in size from .75 x 1.25 (Jiminy Cricket) to 2.5 x 6.75 (Geppetto). In fine condition, with some wear and a few small tears to edges. Follmer worked at Walt Disney Studios from the late 1930s through the early 1940s, assisting on projects like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. He alienated Walt Disney when he organized a strike against the studio, and ultimately left to join the Navy.
