Original embroidered patch for the Jason-3, a satellite altimeter launched by a SpaceX Falcon 9 v1.1 rocket on January 17, 2016, from California's Vandenberg Space Launch Complex 4. The patch measures 3.75" x 4.5" and shows the Falcon 9 rocket, the orbiting Jason-3, the Earth, and a small four-leaf clover to the left side; white text reads: "SpaceX, Falcon 9, 0142, F9, Jason-3." The number on the patch ("0142") indicates the seniority of the employee to whom it was issued: the lower the number, the more senior the employee. Low numbered patches are extremely hard to find. In very fine condition. The satellite's mission is to supply data for scientific, commercial, and practical applications to sea level rise, sea surface temperature, ocean temperature circulation, and climate change.
