CIMSA computer built for the Spacelab Command and Data Management System (CDMS), measuring 11.25″ x 7.75″ x 21″, with a CIMSA label on the front: "Name: Computer 125MS Spacelab, Part Nr. 528 196 000, Ser. No. 004, C.I. Nr. 507 001D, Mod. FM, Contract Nr. MATRA 339 543R Rev. 5." This is a high-reliability core-memory computer built by MATRA for aircraft and modified for spacecraft use. Three CIMSA computers were integrated as part of Spacelab's CDMS—one dedicated to Spacelab experiments, one supporting Spacelab subsystems, and one backup. The CDMS performed processing, formatting, and transmission functions, data acquisition, and capture from onboard experiments.
