Description

Early pioneer of manned flight (1867-1913) known for his man-lifting 'war kites' and the development of early airplanes for the British military; he was killed in an accident while test-flying his Cody Floatplane. Vintage glossy 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo of Cody in his cockpit at Hendon, prominently signed in ink, "S. F. Cody." In fine condition, with light overall scuffing.
