Uncommon and highly desirable 5.5 x 3.5 postcard photo of Wright flying his world record-breaking airplane at Fort Myer, Virginia, neatly signed in fountain pen, "Orville Wright." Dated 1908 in another hand, and also addressed on the reverse in another hand. In fine condition, with light soiling. Wright conducted demonstration flights of the first military airplane in the world, built for the Army Signal Corps, at Fort Myer in September 1908.
