American cartoonist, entrepreneur, and amateur anthropologist (1890-1949) who is known for creating the Ripley's Believe It or Not! newspaper panel series, radio show, and television show which feature odd facts from around the world. Vintage glossy 6.75 x 8.5 photo of Robert Ripley smiling next to a CBS microphone, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, "Ripley, 'Believe It or Not.'" In very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing, three small border tack holes, and emulsion irregularity to the upper right.
