American lawyer (1907-1996), known as the 'King of Torts,' best known for his celebrity-studded roster of clients that included Chuck Berry, Muhammad Ali, Sirhan Sirhan, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, and Jack Ruby. Two items: a vintage glossy 4.75 x 7 photo of the attorney in a suit and tie, signed in blue ballpoint; and a TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Belli, Ashe and Gerry letterhead, April 14, 1964, in part: "Stop by the office if you are ever in the San Francisco area and say hello. I am sending along the photograph you requested." In overall very good to fine condition, with scattered light creasing.
