Ferrotype button from the Constitutional Union Party's 1860 presidential campaign, 5/8″ in diameter, featuring a portrait of presidential candidate John Bell on one side, with his vice presidential running mate Edward Everett on the other. One side is encircled with raised text, "Bell and Everett," and the other has the year, "1860." In very good to fine condition, with the portraits somewhat dark. The Constitutional Union Party campaigned on a simple platform 'to recognize no political principle other than the Constitution of the country, the Union of the states, and the Enforcement of the Laws.'
