Emperor of Russia, King of Poland, and Grand Duke of Finland (born 1845) who reigned from March 13, 1881 until his death on November 1, 1894. During Alexander's reign Russia fought no major wars, and he was therefore styled 'The Peacemaker.' Uncommon original 4.25 x 6.75 cabinet portrait of Alexander III wearing his highly decorated military uniform, with German caption text to bottom reading: "Alexander III, Emperor of Russia, born. March 10, 1845.—Inauguration: March 13, 1881." In fine condition.
