Description

Duchy of Courland (1693-1740) who later ruled as Empress of Russia from 1730 to 1740. Manuscript DS in Russian, signed “Anna,” one page, 8.25 x 12, March 27, 1732. Document directed to the military college, in full (translated): "On the basis of the report submitted to us by the College we have ordered that the cloth for making uniforms in the amount of three hundred thousand arshins be received from the Prussian merchants this year at the price they had announced under the former conditions, and, in addition, to contract for as much cloth as is necessary from the Russian and English factories at the appropriate price. And we order our MIlitary College that this be done according to this our decree." Signed at the conclusion by Anna. In very good condition, with light mottled staining, a tear to the top edge, and a strip of old mounting remnant along the left side.
