Bank of America check, 5.75 x 2.75, filled out and signed by Monroe, payable to Mr. M. Chekhov for $30, November 1954. Endorsed on the reverse in black ink by Chekhov. In fine condition, with an unobtrusive central vertical crease. Michael Chekhov became Monroe’s drama coach in 1951 and thereafter exerted a profound influence on her career. According to the standard reference The Unabridged Marilyn: Her Life from A to Z, Monroe acknowledged Chekhov as the most brilliant man she ever met. Fully signed checks from Monroe remain exceedingly desirable amongst collectors, with this example augmented furthermore by its strong association and copious handwriting. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
