ALS signed “J. Q. Adams,” one page, 8 x 10, July 24, 1844. Letter to G. W. Burnet, in part: “I enclose herewith introductory Letters to Mr. Edward Everett our Minister, and to Colo. Aspinwall our Consul at London, which I hope may prove useful to you, and with which please to accept my best wishes that you may derive all the benefit from your tour, which you can anticipate, and return to your Country and friends with health restored and confirmed.” In very good to fine condition, with several intersecting folds, and a light oval impression of Adams’ face in the center, apparently from exposure to an engraving at some point in time.
