Patriot leader (1729–1824) in Philadelphia during the American Revolution and the secretary of the Continental Congress throughout its existence. Although a lesser-known revolutionary, Thomson was the only person to sign the Dunlap Broadside of the Declaration of Independence along with John Hancock. DS, signed “Cha. Thomson,” one page, 7.5 x 3.5, August 24, 1803. Receipt of payment from James Gibson to James Gellers for the amount of “Ninety two dollars 50/100.” Signed at the conclusion by Thomson. In very good to fine condition, with a repaired tear to bottom edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
