Three items: an ALS signed “Dan’l Webster,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, May 29, 1848, in part: I am indebted to you for many kind letters for which I heartily thank you…Mrs. Webster & myself only arrived here from the North on the 25th,” with its original hand addressed mailing envelope, franked “Dan’l Webster, U. S. Senate”; and an ALS signed “Dan’l Webster,” three pages on two adjoining sheets, October 31, 1851, in part: “On reading your note, & the exquisite verses which accompanied it, experienced feelings, certainly, such as no ordinary compliment or commendation could excite…I know that Poetry has its licenses, of which exaggeration is one. But allowing for this…I could not but feel elated.” In overall very good to fine condition, with old toned tape to separations of the second letter. Accompanied by an engraving bearing a facsimile signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
