Justus von Liebig

German chemist (1803–1873) regarded as one of the greatest chemistry teachers of all time, and also known as the ‘father of the fertilizer industry’ for his discovery of nitrogen as an essential plant nutrient. Untranslated ALS in German, signed “J. Liebig,” one page, 5.5 x 8.75, October 1, 1864. Central vertical and horizontal folds, one tiny hole, and scattered spots of stray ink to lower portion, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
