ALS signed “Van & Janet Planet,” two pages, 6 x 8.75, no date, but postmarked February 5, 1968. Letter to Mick Cox, Elvis Costello’s guitarist. In part: “I’ve forgotten what I wrote you in my last letter but my head has been fucked up for some time. Slowly I’m beginning to see some light. I don’t know how to explain my set-up but I’m kind of nervous and tense with a touch of New York paranoia thrown in…I’ve written to ask if you would be interested in helping me form a group, either here, California, or London. Having gone through an assortment of ordeals and trials, at one point almost going right out I’ve finally got the gospel. Let me know your thoughts on this.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed by Morrison, with the return address filled out in another hand. In fine condition. Pre-certified Roger Epperson/REAL and RR Auction COA.
