Quincy Adams Gillmore

Union general (1825–1888) who fought at Bermuda Hundred and Drewry’s Bluff. He was severely injured in his pursuit of Jubal Early in the Shenandoah Valley. Original 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite three-quarter length portrait of Gillmore in uniform, by E. & H. T. Anthony of New York, signed at the bottom in black ink, “Q. A. Gillmore, Bvt. Maj. Genl.” In fine condition, with silvering to dark areas of the image. RRAuction COA.
