First son of President U. S. Grant (1850–1912) who graduated from West Point in 1871 and served in the Indian Wars, Spanish-American War, and Philippine-American War. Original 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by Falk of New York, signed in the lower border in black ink, “Yours very truly, F. D. Grant.” In very good condition, with light overall toning and soiling, a crease and small tear to the lower border of the mount, and some irregular adhesion to the signature. RRAuction COA.
