Signed in pencil on the first free end page, “Very truly yours, Helen Keller.” Signed page also bears an ownership signature of Otis W. Caldwell (1869-1947), general secretary of the American Association for the Advancement of Science from 1933 until his death, who wrote several books on botany, biology, general science, and education. In fine condition, with previous owner’s bookplate affixed to reverse of second free end page, scattered light wear and edge dings to cover, and some light sunning to spine, as well as light fraying. This book is a continuation of her autobiography, ‘The Story of My Life,’ which appeared in serialized form in six successive issues of the Ladies’ Home Journal in 1902 when she was 22 years old – it was published in book form in 1903.
