Description

Thomas Moore

Famed Irish poet and songwriter (1779–1852) best known for such verses as “The Last Rose of Summer” and “Believe Me If All These Endearing Young Charms.” ALS, one page both sides, 7.5 x 9.25, no date but circa 1813. Moore writes a London publisher. In part: “I am quite vexed at the disappointment and annoyance that Stephenson’s blunder headedness is giving you. What’s to be done about the Rose Tree?…I now see it would delay the work too much to send any other substitute to Dublin, and that we must content ourselves with what we have got done.” Intersecting folds, scattered soiling, and an area of paper loss to the integral second page, otherwise fine condition. Accompanied by an old catalog description and a small unsigned portrait. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
