Maureen Connolly

Tennis player known as “Little Mo,” she was the first woman to win the Grand Slam. Retiring at age 20, she died prematurely fifteen years later. Fountain pen signature, “With my very best of wishes, Maureen Connolly,” on an off-white 4.75 x 5 slip affixed to a same sized sheet. In very good condition, with a central horizontal fold (lightly affecting a single letter of the signature), scattered light adhesive stains, a block of faint toning, and light rippling from mounting. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
