This studio photograph picturing Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) was signed and inscribed “To Victor Young, Thos. A. Edison.” Young was employed as Edison’s personal pianist and music director at the inventor’s laboratory in Orange, New Jersey from 1919 to 1927, and this thoughtful bestowment was doubtless among Young’s most treasured. Edison’s black fountain pen inscription was signed along the bottom margin of the 9.5 x 12 mount, above which rests the 6.5 x 8.5 image of the aged personage. In very good condition. Peripheral toning and superficial surface faults are present, but these defects are easily subdued by the use of matting. RRAuction COA.
