Humorous blank greeting card featuring a rainbow assortment of two dozen unfurled condoms on two clotheslines, 6.75 x 4.75, copyright 1987, signed and inscribed on the interior “Dear Mervyn, Wishing you a very [underlined] Happy Birthday, with much love from Diana, X.” This startlingly raunchy (for a princess) image attracted worldwide attention in Fall 2008 when Diana’s former chef, Mervyn Wyncherly, sold his personal collection of correspondence. According to news sources, Wyncherly prepared the couple’s meals during their honeymoon on the Royal Yacht Brittania and continued in Diana’s employ after the couple separated in 1982. Wyncherly recalled one particularly memorable kitchen visit from Diana: “The Princess wanted a yoghurt from the fridge and swept into the kitchen wearing just her dressing gown and tiara.
