Operatic composer Ruggero Leoncavallo (1858–1919) is best known for the beloved repertoire staple I Pagliacci (1892). Pietro Mascagni (1863–1945) wrote the 1890 masterpiece Cavalleria Rusticana, which is likewise cherished as one of the most enduring works in the operatic genre. Two items: matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo, signed vertically in ink “R. Leoncavallo, Brissago, 3.X.1905”; and a matte-finish 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo, signed in ink “P. Mascagni, Wien, 6.4.[1]907.” Matted and framed together to an overall size of 12.5 x 9.5. A hint of mild scattered soiling, and a subtle trace of rippling and silvering to Mascagni photo, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
