Description

American modernist writer and critic (1885–1972) whose works, particularly his poetry, occupy a central place in twentieth-century letters. ALS, one page, 8 x 8, no date. Letter written at the bottom of a typed receipt for monies received for an article written for The Criterion. Pound writes: “I shd. be interested to know why this sum has been forwarded instead of £10/0/0, originally agreed upon. Nothing was said to me about British taxes deductible at the source.” Ink notation affecting first line of text of letter, intersecting folds, and a trimmed top edge, otherwise fine condition.
