Cuban revolutionary leader and poet (1853–1895) who was killed while fighting for Cuban independence from Spain. Ink signature, “Paris Decembre de 1874, José Martí,” on the printed 5.5 x 8.75 dedication page removed from a publication titled Coleccion de Papelse Cientificos, Historicos, Politicos y de Otros Ramos Sobra La Isla de Cuba [Collection of Scientific, Historical, and Political Papers and Other Subjects on the Island of Cuba] by Don José Antonio Saco (Paris, 1858). Accompanied by the unsigned title page (stained and portion removed) from the same work. In very good condition, with scattered toning and light staining, the writing remaining bold and clear.
