Unusual Buchanan 1827 indenture

Uncommon DS, signed “James B. Buchanan,” one page, 15.25 x 21.25, May 1, 1827. Indenture agreement between Buchanan and Abraham Stigpen “in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fourteen dollars and thirty-seven & one half cent lawful money of the United States to him well & truly paid by the said Abraham Stigpen…assigns all that certain tract piece of parcel of timberland.” Neatly signed at the bottom by Buchanan, and countersigned by Henry Carpenter and D. Moore. In fine condition, with intersecting folds, a bit of mild toning, and small manuscript seal at end of Buchanan’s signature. An uncommon document.
