Partly printed DS, four pages on two adjoining sheets, 11.25 x 18, May 25, 1864. A quitclaim deed for a parcel of land owned by Samuel C. Stambaugh in Manheim Township, Pennsylvania, transferred to Henry A. Hambright of St. Louis. The 31-acre tract was purchased at a sheriff’s sale, Buchanan acting as Hambright’s agent. Accompanied by a detailed period hand-drawn survey map of the land in question, which includes a sketch of the dwelling then on the property, a period engraving of Buchanan, a letter from the Lancaster County Historical Society discussing the history of the property, and copies of related documents and articles. In very good condition, with intersecting folds (holes and separations at intersections; vertical fold to “B”; small hole just above “B”) and scattered mild soiling and toning.
