Description

ALS, one page both sides, 5.25 x 6.75, personal “Westland, Princeton” letterhead, May 23, 1898. Cleveland writes to his sister, Margaret Louise Cleveland Bacon. In part: “I send with this a letter from Mr. Stetson an alumnus of Williams College and a man whose praise is tolerable…. I arrived home safely Saturday evening after a most enjoyable trip one of the most pleasant incidents of which was my short visit at your home. I hope Jenny’s indisposition was only very temporary and we all send love to all your household….” After signing in full, Cleveland adds a postscript, which he signs “G. C.”: “Of course you need not return Stetson’s letter.” Accompanied by the original mailing envelope addressed in Cleveland’s hand. Short marginal separation at mailing fold and a hint of mild handling wear, otherwise fine condition. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
