Partly printed DS as president, one page on vellum, 14.75 x 18.75, August 9, 1886. A military promotion for J. Walker Benet as first lieutenant in the Fifth Regiment of Artillery. Countersigned by William C. Endicott as secretary of war. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower left. Matted with an engraved plaque to an overall size of 18 x 24.
