Edward (1894–1972) reigned as Edward VIII from January to December 1936, at which time he abdicated the throne to marry American divorcée Wallis Warfield Simpson (1896–1986). Ink signatures, “Edward, Duke of Windsor” and “Wallis, Duchess of Windsor,” on an off-white 5.5 x 4 correspondence card with engraved crest. Accompanied by a 1967 letter of transmittal from Edward’s private secretary. A touch of light soiling and toning and very faint diagonal crease (lightly touching Edward’s title though visible mainly from reverse), otherwise fine condition. R&R COA.
