Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Connecticut (1731–1811). Manuscript DS, signed “Wm. Williams,” one page both sides, 8 x 12, December 27, 1788. A legal summons for William Averill of Lebanon, Connecticut in the matter of a dispute over ownership of a “large black dog.” In good condition, with wrinkling, scattered soiling and staining, slight chipping and edge separations at folds, and slight brushing to signature.
