Pennsylvania-born signer of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution (1734–1806). LS, boldly signed “Robt. Morris,” one page, 7.5 x 9, May 5, 1783. Morris writes to William Whipple (1730–1785), the Signer from New Hampshire. In full: “I have duly received your favor of the eighth of last month with the Law enclosed in it. I shall be very glad to be informed who is to be the Drawer of those orders on the Treasurer which are receiveable [sic] in Taxes and also whether my Notes or Bank Notes are receiveable in your Taxes.” Matted and framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 20.25 x 16.
