An official declaration of French citizenship. In full: “I hereby declare that I am citizen of France and that my permanent address is 9, rue du Beaujolais, Paris. I have no intention of ever taking up permanent residence in the U.S.A.” The upper portion of the letter bears a handwritten translation into French in an unknown hand.
