Taft inscribes to the wife of impeached New York governor Sulzer

Vintage matte-finish 8.25 x 11.75 portrait photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, as president, to the wife of New York governor William Sulzer, who was impeached in October 1913, “For Mrs. William Sulzer with my best wishes from a warm friend and admirer of her husband, April 4th 1912.” Accompanied by a two page TLS, August 1913, from Governor Sulzer, defending his conduct. In very good condition, with repaired horizontal crack across lower portion of images, mall tear to bottom edge and light creasing to lower corners. Auction LOA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
