Brewer (1836–1904) who founded the company which, in the 1890s, introduced the “Blue Ribbon” brand, the “beer that made Milwaukee famous.” Promissory note, 8 x 3, filled out in another hand and signed by Pabst as “Fred. Pabst, Prest.,” payable to Wisconsin Marine & Fire Insurance Company Bank for $50,000, May 18, 1883. Pabst has also endorsed on the reverse. In fine condition, with pen and ink-stamped cancellations (the latter touching signature) and faint horizontal fold. R&R COA.
