Scottish novelist and poet (1771–1832) best known for such classics as Ivanhoe, Rob Roy, and Waverley. ALS signed “W. Scott,” one page, 4.5 x 7.25, black-bordered letterhead, no date. Scott writes to the renowned painter Sir Thomas Lawrence, who painted a famous portrait of the artist. In full: “Expect me at half past ten tomorrow. I am just to sit all the morning as I know you like a long uninterrupted a [sic] time. Trimming and pinholes along left edge and light offsetting to blank lower portion, otherwise fine condition.
