Vintage glossy 7.75 x 9.75 photo of Jolson in blackface as he appeared in the pioneering 1927 “talkie” The Jazz Singer, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Rudy, Al Jolson.” In good to very good condition, trimmed sightly in size, with light scattered soiling, tack holes at corners, and scattered dings and surface marks. Many of the faults can easily be matted out, and signed images of Jolson in the film that launched Hollywood’s sound era are quite uncommon and desirable. R&R COA.
