Empress of Russia, 1762–96. She murdered her husband, Peter III, and proclaimed herself Czarina in 1762. DS in Russian, signed “Ekatarina,” one page, 7.5 x 11, 1781. Royal decree signed at the conclusion by Catherine. Matted and framed with a color portrait of Catherine and a small name plaque, to an overall size of 23.5 x 17.
